At least 6 dead in Germany Attack

German police have confirmed that there was a shooting in Hanauer Street, adjacent to the shopping centre. Six people have been killed and an unknown number injured.

Turkey airport attack: 41 killed in explosions at Istanbul Atatürk

Roy Hodgson steps down as England boss following defeat

Roy Hodgson has stepped down as England manager following the shock defeat to Iceland at Euro 2016 on Monday.
England were embarrassingly knocked out of Euro 2016 after losing 2-1 to Iceland at the Allianz Riviera.
Hodgson elected to start under-fire winger Raheem Sterling as part of an attacking line-up in Nice and was rewarded when captain Wayne Rooney scored from the penalty spot after just three minutes.
However, Iceland hit back immediately through Ragnar Sigurdsson and Kolbein Sigthorsson to record the greatest result in their country's history.

NDC's Decision To Boycott IEA Debates Cowardly And Hypocritical – Kweku Baako

Senior journalist Abdul Malik Kweku Baako says the governing NDC’s decision to boycott this year’s IEA debates is not only cowardly but also hypocritical.

“Why is it that when it comes to Presidential Debates, the NDC always finds faults with the IEA and always threatens to boycott? Why?” he asked.

He was speaking on Joy FM and MultiTV’s weekly news analysis show, Newsfile on the decision of the National Democratic Congress not to participate in any pre-election activities oragnised by think tank, Institute of Economic Governance (IEA).

Financial Analyst and Social commentator, Sydney Casely-Hayford wants the Supreme Court to jail the seven members of the Electoral Commission [EC] if they fail to obey the orders of the Supreme Court compelling them to provide the full list of NHIS card holders on the voters register.

The Supreme Court last Wednesday ordered the EC to furnish it with the list by June 29, 2016.

“If they do not comply by the 29th, they should be jailed. All the seven members of the commission should be rallied before the Supreme Court and charged with contempt of the Supreme Court and they should be jailed,” Casely-Hayford said on Citi FM’s News analysis program, The Big Issue.

Catholic 'priest' caught in sex scandal

The medical director of the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Koforidua Rev. Brother George Castro Yankey has been caught pants down in an alleged sex scandal with a married nurse of the medical facility.

Investigations at the St. Joseph's Hospital reveal the director has been implicated in several allegations of sexual harassment against his female staff, but has vehemently denied until he was caught on camera.

Greenstreet, a Nkrumah Incarnate – Prof. Delle

The National Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Professor Edmund Delle, has described the party’s 2016 flag bearer, Mr Ivor Kobina Greentsreet, as “the young Nkrumah who has come and will lead the CPP to victory in this year’s election.

According to Prof. Delle, “since Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah never fails and dies, Greenstreet will never fail Ghanaians.”

In celebratory remarks on the ocassion of the 50th birthday of Mr Greenstreet in Accra last Wednesday, Prof. Delle expressed optimism in the CPP winning this year’s election. Incidentally, this year also marks the 50 years of the ousting of Dr Nkrumah, the first President of the country.

He declared that “the CPP, in prosecuting its 2016 electoral agenda, will campaign in the streets, we shall campaign on top of trees, we shall go to heaven and yell that the CPP is back.”
